This past weekend, Oct 10-11, 2020, we celebrated 200 days of our "Happy Ever After" Let's back up and see how/where this all started, I'll keep it brief though.
In February we, Scott and I, started chatting on a newish app "March Polo". Our videos quickly became more often throughout the day, and after only a few days turned into video chatting and phone calls.
I loved it when he would play me songs, which he did often.
In March Scott flew out to visit and meet in person for the first time, he would only be here 4 short days. Though we had seen each other every night via video chat I felt nervous meeting in person. Also in the back of my mind, I knew he'd be asking my dad for his blessing to ask me to marry him. My dad gave his blessing, but with only a few days what was to happen next? The next few days were so wonderful spending time together and getting to know each other more and more.
Finally, the day came where Scott had to fly back to UT and it was such a sad day. However, about an hour before boarding we were in Hudson News at BWI, and he was behind me, asked me to hold his bags for a minute, I was like "um ok" thought he was going to grab snacks or something, but nope, he dropped down to one knee and proposed. I was so shocked I really don't remember much after that.
This was right at the beginning of COVID-19 and everywhere started getting shut down and we were worried he wouldn't be able to come back to MD for quite a while. We began praying and felt the Lord answering our prayers so Scott packed up his car and left UT at the end of March and finally got here to MD around 3am April 1, 2020. We got only a few hours of sleep, then got up, got ready, and headed to VA, as that was the only local place still holding marriage ceremonies. We were married on April 2, 2020. Unfortunately, there are no pictures. I can't believe I didn't even ger 1 picture of us.
Well over the last 200 days we have had so much fun. My son and I have taught Scott a card game called "Hands and Feet" which we play often. Scott and SeBastian jam on the guitars and make lots of noise. They've even made to the church building to play the organ and piano.
Now to this past weekend. We started the weekend by buying a new car :) Shh.... SeBastian doesn't know yet. Then Saturday morning we hit the road and headed to Ocean City and got to enjoy some alone time away from our place. While we were there, Ocean City was hosting a car show, so we got to see a few nice older cars. Sunday morning we woke up super early and hurried to the beach to enjoy the sun-raise. Sadly there were enough clouds we did not get to see the crescent of the sun break the horizon :( Maybe next time. It was still beautiful and very relaxing.
